Storytelling
Programs...
"Miss Jane's" Story Programs
- Excellent springboards into
units of study
- Students have a shared experience
regardless of their learning ability
- Students are actively involved
in the program through their imagination
"Miss Jane, Miss Jane, look who has come
to hear your stories. We are thrilled to be a part of the
Friday afternoon activities."
I turned to see a group of special education
students sitting confidently with their teachers.
I had
shared stories with these students for over three years
in primary school.
All of a sudden I was glad I had accepted
the job of telling stories to 450 fourth and fifth graders
in the gym on Friday afternoon after a pep rally!!!

Preschool Programs
Stories, songs, chants and fingerplays that I have collected
and found successful with young children during my 30 years
as a teacher, workshop leader and storyteller make-up my
program for the young child.
"The three year olds were very responsive to Miss Jane's
character voices. Her stories were enjoyed so much
the kids asked her to repeat many of the same ones each day."—Milissa,
18, Student Worker
First through Eighth Grade Programs
Original stories from my southern heritage, folktales, legends,
and myths that I have developed during my 14 years as professional
storyteller are carefully chosen for each group and woven
into an age appropriate program.
"Jane Cunningham is a dynamic storyteller. She
captivates her audience from the moment she begins. She
uses a variety of styles to keep her audience interested.
They interact with her stories and hang on to her every
word. Her personality is energetic, loving, and captivating.
Through her characterizations the children become so engrossed
they become part of the story and take part as the characters
develop. The children and the teachers always leave with
a smile on their face."—Lynn Beaver, 2nd grade
teacher, Midway School, Floyd County, GA
